ICELAND OPENS IT BORDERS TO THE WORLD
12.04.2021

After more than a year with worldwide travel ban Iceland goes in the frontline opening its boarders to the world. From February 16th Iceland has exempted citizens of Europe’s Schengen zone from quarantine and test regulations, if they are vaccinated with one of the vaccines approved by the European Medicines Agency, which currently include Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca and Johnson & Johnson. From April 6th anyone is allowed entry to Iceland, if they are vaccinated with one of the four approved vaccines. Those from countries outside the EU, who have been vaccinated with other vaccines, will have to wait for the entry to Iceland, until their vaccines have been approved by European authorities. Beginning May 1st Iceland will start using a risk assessment color code at its borders to open to even more travelers. Arrivals from low-risk areas, which will be coded green and yellow, will not be required to quarantine and test, if the visitors can present a negative PCR test at the border.
