The number of visitors to Russia has been steadily increasing the last years, in the first place from Asia and Middle East, but now also Americans and Europeans are returning in larger numbers. No doubt that for European travelers the FIFA World Cup in 2018 and the introduction of e-visa to the regions of Vladivostok, Kaliningrad and St. Petersburg in 2019 have had a very positive influence.

LEGENDARY HOTEL RADISSON BLU LATVIJA REVIVED

The 550-room legendary Hotel Radisson Blu Latvija, which has dominated the center of Riga for the last 40-years is undergoing an almost complete refurbishment in 2020/2021. The hotel already features a new swanky lobby area and before the summer 2020 the large restaurant area will be completely renovated. Already half of the guest rooms in the lower extension building of the hotel has been renovated and the rest of the rooms in this building will be renovated before the 2020 summer season.

NEW LUXURY HOTEL IN COPENHAGEN

Denmark’s capital city Copenhagen will see a new addition to its diverse hotel collection. The new luxury Hotel Villa Copenhagen will open in April this year. The hotel has transformed the historic, century-old grand central post office next to Tivoli Gardens into a Copenhagen landmark of contemporary sustainability and luxury.

Vihula Manor Country Club & Spa in the Lahemaa National Park in North Estonia has received yet another international award – Historic Hotel of 2020 by European Hotel Awards, a sort of Academy Awards for European hotels and restaurants. Olita & Hans-Henrik Kjølby received the prestigious award recently at an Award Ceremony at the Hotel W Barcelona, where eight other awards were bestowed to high-end European hotels and restaurants.

Norway is one of the countries that invests most in sustainability. It has the highest percentage of electric cars of any country in the world and Norway is on its path becoming a carbon-neutral nation by 2050. Norway’s capital Oslo was crowned the European Green Capital 2019. Oslo city center is almost entirely car-free, with vastly expanded pedestrian and biking lanes.

After a year with solid growth Via Hans & Borealis is expanding its offices in Copenhagen and in Moscow. Via Hansa & Borealis Copenhagen has already moved to a larger office located in Valby, the South East part of Copenhagen Municipality, while the Via Hansa & Borealis Moscow office space is being almost doubled at the Polyanka Business Center in the very center of Moscow.
