The Michelin certification of restaurants in the Baltic countries does not only benefit the restaurants in the capitals. In Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania, a number of restaurants in provincial towns have been recognized by Michelin. A very good example of this is Restaurant Kest in Cesis, a very picturesque town in the Gauja National Park in Latvia, famous for its beautiful gardens and the Medieval Castle and Old Town dating back to the 13th century.

Located in the old fire station from 1932, Restaurant Kest, managed by Latvian Star chef Maris Jansons and his young team, received a special service recognition from Michelin and offers a very delicious and innovative five-course degustation menu based on local seasonal ingredients and a pairing fine wine menu. In addition, the restaurant offers a setting with a very pleasant ambiance and impeccable service – and a surprise by the end of the dinner.
