VON SCHUBERT FAMILY ON HISTORICAL VISIT TO VIHULA MANOR

Seventy-six years after the von Schubert family was forced out of Vihula Manor in northern Estonia, Dr. Bernhard von Schubert, grandson of the last von Schubert owner of the estate and president of the von Schubert Family Association, recently paid a historical visit to Vihula Manor together with his spouse, children and grandchildren. The family enjoyed some exciting days in Estonia and at Vihula Manor and was full of praise for the careful restoration of their ancestral home. This year marks the 205th anniversary of the acquisition of Vihula Manor by Alexander von Schubert in 1810. The event is being celebrated by the unveiling of a bust sculpture of Alexander von Schubert in the Manor Park in mid-June and by a permanent exhibition about the von Schubert Family at the estate in the Water Mill later in the year.

VIHULA MANOR BECOMES EVEN MORE STYLISH

Prior to the 2015 high season, much effort has gone into improving the product and services at Vihula Manor. The whole of the first floor of the Main Manor House is now La Boheme Restaurant, offering four charming dining rooms – the Ballroom, the Cocktail Room, the Library Room and the Chimney Room – altogether accommodating 120 guests. The ground floor of the Main Manor House has been turned into a very stylish reception and lounge area. The lounges and wine cellar are perfect for a quick snack, afternoon tea, an aperitif before dinner or for a nightcap. In addition, 45 ZEN rooms and suites at the estate have been renovated to match a superior 4-star level. Finally, on June 1st we are opening a  Vintage Car Exhibition in the Garage with four elegant and fully restored vintage cars. The exhibition is open daily from 10.00 to 18.00 and entrance is free. The vintage cars can be rented for photoshoots and weddings.
