e-News 1/2019

Latvia is experiencing a boom in hotel construction and a growing flow of investment in the development of hospitality and tourism projects. Despite the fears that the hotel market in Riga is close to saturation, several new hotels have been opened in the capital city last year.  Over the last ten years, the number of hotels has increased by 34.7%, while the number of tourists has risen by almost 50% and the total spending has more than doubled.

To keep pace with the tourism industry and travel trends, the Mogotel Hotel Group is developing a diverse range of hotel deals. In November last year the new 4-star Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel has been opened and the local chain currently is operating 13 hotels, now including three Wellton brand hotels in Riga of 4-star superior quality. As from January 10th four Rixwell 3-star Hotels Domus, Old Town, Irina and Bauska have been re-branded into Rija Hotels to represent moderately priced, family-orientated midscale hotels and to optimize services to meet consumers' needs, thereby creating better value for a lower price. This allows strengthening six 4-star Rixwell brand hotels, which are all located in Riga and offer a very good value for money. Another two projects in Riga are in planning with openings expected in 2021.

Via Hansa & Borealis has developed a very tight cooperation with Mogotel Group over the years. Thanks to our solid buying power we have secured hotel allocations for the upcoming season at very competitive rates. For more information and bookings, please contact Via Hansa & Borealis Riga office.
