Faroe Islands, the North Atlantic archipelago, located half-way between Denmark and Iceland, is a truly amazing place with its breathtaking nature and wildlife. The destination has over the last years fast been gaining popularity, but the hotel capacity has been limited. At the beginning of last year, the Faroe Islands' capital, Torshavn, had just over 300 hotel rooms at six hotels. During 2020 a further 345 rooms have been added doubling the hotel capacity. In October, the four-star Hilton Garden Inn opened its doors with 130 rooms. The second new hotel, also four-star, Hotel Brandan, came with 124 rooms. Additionally, the Faroe Islands' largest hotel, Føroyar, located just outside Torshavn, has been expanded from 131 to 202 rooms. Via Hansa & Borealis warmly welcomes the increased hotel capacity as we over the past three years have invested extensive resources in product development on the Faroe Islands. Our newly launched COVID-19 PROOF TRAVEL CONCEPT represents a natural match with the possibilities of this remote and unique destination. The destination is pleasantly off the beaten track and very suitable for family groups and smaller exclusive corporate group. Boat, nature and trekking programs take the guests out to experience the rugged beauty of the Faroe Islands. Explore the mountains, gorges, waterfalls and meet the endless number of puffins inhabiting the islands. We also give our guests the possibility of social, cultural and gastro experiences, among others: Live grotto concerts, farm house visits, dine at Michelin-starred restaurant KOKS and much more.
