NH COLLECTION OPENS 5-STAR HOTEL IN THE VERY CENTER OF COPENHAGEN

The NH Hotel Group recently opened the 5-star NH Collection Copenhagen. The hotel sits in a beautiful location next to the harbor in a building known as the ‘Desert Fortress’. The building was designed by modernist architect Palle Suenson in the 1950s and was initially built as the headquarters of Burmeister & Wain, the largest ship building company in Denmark. Today, this listed building still reflects the best architectural styles of the period of modernism, including pure forms, straight lines and flat roofs. The hotel features 394 luxurious guests rooms and suites, two large restaurants, a casual bar and seven spaces for events and meetings holding from 12-340 guests. The vibrant city life of Christianshavn is on the doorstep and both the Opera, Royal Library and Nyhavn are within walking distance of the hotel’s front door.

Visitors are increasingly returning to Copenhagen and Denmark as the country seems to have got a firm grip on the covid-19 pandemic. Over three quarters of the whole population are fully vaccinated, new infections remain on a low level and the country has now lifted all restrictions related to the covid-19 pandemic. RUNDALE PALACE TAKES EUROPEAN GARDEN PRICE 2021

Rundale Palace in the South of Latvia has been awarded the European Garden Price for 2021. The former summer residence of the Dukes of Courland is the most impressive baroque palace in the Baltic countries and features a 10 hectare French baroque garden. Over several years the garden has been restored to its former beauty and glory. All elements of the garden have been restored: the ornamental parterre, the bosquets surrounded by hedges, the Green Theatre, the pergolas and pavilions. We recommend visitors who come to admire the baroque architecture and splendors of Rundale Palace to include a visit to the beautiful garden.
